Lose your keys. Keep your identity
If a holder loses their keys, recovery is possible through a time-delayed process. A recovery request opens a 24-hour waiting period, a deliberate security feature that frustrates social-engineering takeover. After the delay, the holder rotates to a new key.

Open a request
You file a recovery request from a new key pair, identifying the wallet to be recovered.

Complete rotation
After the delay, you complete the rotation. The new key is now authoritative; the old key is invalidated.
Why a delay at all? If recovery were instant, anyone who could trick a holder or their contacts into revealing a recovery code could seize the identity. The 24-hour window gives the legitimate holder time to detect and cancel a fraudulent request.
